One of the most memorable and dear to the heart gifts may be a cross-stitch picture. Let it be small and not too complicated, but it is in it that you put not only love, but also a piece of your soul. However, what to do for those who really want to create, but there is no experience, skills and, especially, art education? We hasten to please you. Even if you do not understand anything in this matter, do not worry. Learning to embroider is easy. Moreover, it's time to start doing it!
So, let's take a step-by-step look at how you can embroider a small red heart with your own hands. To do this, you will need the following materials:
1. Convenient small canvas measuring 10x10 centimeters.
2. Thin needle.
3. Floss bright red.
4. The hoop.
5. Scissors.
Typically, newcomers who are just starting a close acquaintance with activities such as cross-stitch, prefer to do without a hoop. In principle, this is a purely personal matter for everyone. If at first you are uncomfortable to turn them over, and indeed, hold them in your hands, you can limit yourself to a cloth, thread and a needle.
Most often, a mouline thread consists of six thin threads. In the work you will need only two such threads, so for a start, separate them from the total mass, and then put the needles into the eye and make a small knot on one side. If you still decide to embroider with the hoop, then, holding the fabric on both sides, carefully put your canvas into them.
The preparatory phase is over, now it's time to start in the immediate work. It’s best to start embroidering not from the middle, but from the upper left edge (in this case, the number of errors you made should be minimal). Pass the needle into the fabric from the inside and fasten the thread with the previously made knot. Then insert the needle into the hole in the lower right corner of the canvas and again push it from the wrong side to the upper corner of the square (as shown in the photographs). To complete the embroidery of the first fragment, you need to again insert the needle into the remaining fourth hole and get it from where you want to continue to embroider. Please note that the direction of the pattern should be the same, namely: the first thread should be embroidered from left to right, and the next - from right to left. Try to evenly embroider and in no case, unless of course the drawing requires it, do not skip the squares.
After completing work, be sure to check if all the nodules are fixed. If you see that during the embroidery process your fabric was slightly dirty, carefully stretch it in cool water. In any case, the finished picture needs to be ironed. This should be done exclusively on the wrong side and with an iron set to a minimum temperature. Such a graceful and stylish heart can be inserted into a frame and decorated as a picture, or an original, cute postcard can be made using cardboard, scissors and glue.
We hope that the photos will not only clearly show you how to proceed, but also greatly facilitate the entire process. Boldly get down to business!
