How to quickly grow pepper

A good harvest of pepper is necessary for any gardener, and the maximum harvest can be obtained thanks to early seedlings. Pepper is a heat-loving crop, so the growth rate is mainly determined by the climatic characteristics of the region. However, it is possible to achieve accelerated seedling growth under certain growing conditions. The sooner seedlings are taken in the open field, the faster it will bear fruit and will allow you to collect more crops per season.

Seed treatment before planting


In order to quickly grow pepper, you need to use the seeds of last year's crop, since aging for more than a year affects the seedlings of pepper. Seeds should be planted in crates with black soil at the end of February. To implement this technique, you will need:
  • - dried pepper seeds;
  • - potassium permanganate;
  • - several nettle leaves (can be dried);
  • - ground wood ash;
  • - ultraviolet lamp;
  • - polyethylene and a box for seedlings.

Before disembarking, it is necessary to disinfect and supply the missing nutrients. To do this, the seeds are wrapped in gauze and immersed for 20 minutes in a solution of potassium permanganate. This will protect the seedlings from various diseases and fungus. To obtain a solution, 5 g of potassium permanganate should be dissolved in 500 ml of water.

It is also necessary to provide seeds with growth stimulants. Nettle infusion acts as an effective stimulant. For this, a tablespoon of nettle is brewed in a glass. After cooling to room temperature, dry seeds in gauze are lowered into the infusion for 30 minutes.

Next, you can begin to plant the treated seeds. To do this, furrows are made in a box with chernozem with an interval of several centimeters. Seeds are laid out in the furrow and poured on top with a few centimeters of land.
Now sowing needs watering and supplying nutrients. These procedures can be combined, which will make the rapid cultivation of pepper even more intense. To prepare a nutrient solution, 20 grams of chopped wood ash is soaked for 5 hours in a liter of warm water. This must be done in advance, so that immediately after planting, water the seeds with a solution.

Wood ash contains up to 30 nutrients necessary for the rapid growth of pepper. Seeds are kept warm (about 25 degrees Celsius) until sprouts appear.

Special conditions for rapid growth


Thanks to this technique, pepper seeds germinate within two weeks. After germination, young shoots need ultraviolet light and additional heat for growth intensity. To do this, you need an ultraviolet lamp, which can be purchased at a specialized store.

It will serve as an artificial substitute for pepper sprouts at night. On a sunny day, you can put young seedlings on the windowsill, but make sure that no cold air comes in from the window. In cloudy weather, you need to leave the seedlings under the lamp around the clock.
An ultraviolet lamp, depending on the power, is installed at a certain distance from the shoots. This should be done so that it provides the necessary heat, but does not burn the sprouts. For a standard 60 W lamp, the distance from the sprouts should be about 25 cm.

After the appearance of four or five leaves, you should dive. In addition, each sprout of pepper is transplanted separately, after which the boxes with dipped seedlings are placed in a greenhouse under polyethylene. Diving is necessary to strengthen the root system, which will ensure the rapid cultivation of pepper and large fruits. Free-sprouted shoots harden faster and intensive growth occurs.

Transplanting into a greenhouse and hardening seedlings


After a couple of weeks, you can transplant the sprouts from the boxes into the greenhouse soil. Periodically, hardening of young seedlings should be carried out. To do this, in warm weather, polyethylene opens daily for 15 minutes. After a few days, the greenhouse opens for 30 minutes and for an hour. Further, hardening is carried out during half a daylight hours. With cloudy and warm weather, seedlings can be left in the air all day. The optimum temperature for pepper is 22 - 25 degrees Celsius.

At the same time, one should not forget about regular watering, which should be done as the soil dries. Approximately, watering is necessary every three days. After a month of regular hardening, pepper can be left in the open around the clock if the nights are warm and there are no frosts. Thus, at the age of 60 days, strong pepper seedlings are planted in open ground already in early May.

Thanks to this technique, you can quickly grow any kind of pepper, as well as achieve the maximum yield for the season. It should be remembered that pepper is susceptible to cooling, demanding heat, and also responsive to frequent watering at the stage of seedling and ripening. You can not plant sharp varieties of pepper next to sweet, since pollination does not allow to achieve the desired result.
