A touch phone is a fairly common gadget that almost every person has. However, he has the second most popular failure, after a broken screen - this is a battery failure. “Revive” the gadget with a failed battery is not a problem.

Only one drawback of this solution to the problem: after the so-called modernization, it will be possible to use it only at home ... But as a video player, for example, cartoons for children, or a game console, or as a last resort if your phone crashes until you purchase a new one, it is quite suitable for use at home, for access to the network, for example ... You can, of course, buy a "native" battery for a particular model, but such products are not always on sale. Especially if the model of the smartphone is outdated quite a long time ago, as in my case. The phone is still fully operational. Everything works, "thinks" well for its model, but there is no battery. This problem is easy to fix on your own.

Will need

  • 18650 battery (1 pc.)
  • Plastic sheet, 2mm thick.
  • Soldering iron, flux and solder.
  • Two wiring (150 mm each. Preferably black and red).
  • Springs
  • Burner. (or soldering iron)
  • Battery Charger Type 18650.

Phone Battery Assembly

So, first we make a box for the battery. We take measurements from the 18650 battery (height and width) and, by these standards, cut the workpieces from plastic with scissors. If the plastic is not more than two mm thick, then good scissors can handle it. Next, we solder the resulting details with a burner. On one wrong side, with the help of a second glue, we install a spring (this will be a minus) and put the contact out, and on the second wrong side we install a tin plate, in which the battery plus rests, we also put it on the front side of the box.

Next, we remove the charge controller from the old battery.

We do this as carefully as possible! Do not forget about safety glasses and rubber gloves! This controller is most likely not working if the battery itself has failed, but we only need it to contact the new battery with the phone's terminals. Now we take measurements from the old battery, and cut out a plate on them, from a material that is suitable in thickness.

This will be a kind of filler, instead of a native battery, which will press the controller from the old battery to the terminals of the phone. Just in case, I used another controller, which I took out from an unnecessary working battery of 3.7 v. and which stuck to the outer side wall of the box.

Every modern 18650 battery has overcharge protection, and yet an extra controller will not hurt! We bring the contacts of the box (plus and minus) to the corresponding contacts on the controller. On each controller there are designations: B + and B- (battery) mean contacts that should be connected to the battery (battery, in our case!) In accordance with the polarity. And also the terminals P + and P- (power) that need to be connected to the telephone terminals in the same way in accordance with the polarity.

Next, using double tape, glue the box to the phone cover.

We put the charged battery into the box, connect it to the phone's terminals, again, observing the polarity and use it for health!

Another disadvantage of this design; To charge the battery, you must remove it from the device! But there is one trick: you can use several 18650 batteries connected in parallel. How many batteries connected in parallel, you connect to the phone - so many times longer it will function without recharging. For example; one battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh multiplied by four of the same, will give a capacity of 10,000 mAh already! The voltage does not change in parallel.

One more thing; if you use several batteries (for example four), when discharging energy in them, it is not necessary to remove them all at once for recharging, you can leave one so as not to restart the phone in the future. With one battery, the phone will not turn off, while the rest are charged.
