When you need to cut a workpiece from metal (corner, strip, profile) as accurately and evenly as possible, it is much more convenient to hold the grinder not in your hands, but by installing it on a makeshift rack.
Design options for racks can be very different. In this review, the author offers the idea of how to make a rack for a small grinder using parts from an old bicycle.
In this case, part of the steering fork, part of the steering wheel and part of the bicycle frame will be required. We cut off all the necessary details using angle grinders.
The main stages of work
In the next step, you will need a piece of metal plate in which you need to drill two holes. We weld this blank to the bicycle fork.
The author welds a part of the bicycle frame to the table, which he made independently of sheet metal and profile pipes.
After that, we proceed to the assembly of the structure. In the frame part, insert the plug and the "stub" of the steering wheel.
At the last stage, it remains only to weld the abutment strips from the corner (at an angle of 45 and 90 degrees relative to the cutting disc of the angle grinder) to the table, as well as to clean and paint the entire assembled structure.
