Today it is very convenient to use plastic screeds, which are quite versatile and are used in various fields: when installing wires, at home, in the workshop, in the country or in the garage. But ties are one annoying property - they end at the most inopportune moment.

An alternative to screeds is wire (with or without insulation - it does not matter). Just not to twist it with your hands, you can make your own hands a simple but very convenient clamp from old pliers.

One of the advantages of this device is that it is possible to make clamps of various sizes, it is enough just to choose a suitable wire along the length. But screeds are sold in certain sizes (for example, 150, 200 or 500 mm long).

The main stages of work

First of all, in one of the pliers sponges, it is necessary to drill a through hole. If you take the old Soviet pliers, you will have to sweat, of course - the steel is good there. For the manufacture of clamps, Chinese pliers are best suited. Drilling them is not a problem.

Next, we cut the thread under the bolt in the drilled hole. After that, with the help of angle grinders, it will be necessary to cut off part of the second sponge, and in the remaining half, make a cut 1.5-2 mm wide into which wires for clamps are inserted.

At the end of the bolt, a grinder or a hacksaw for metal will also need to make a small slot. For details on how to make a simple and convenient clamp from your old pliers with your own hands, see the video on the website.
