Earlier we wrote about how to make an oven for a cauldron from old drives from a car. In this review, we will tell you how to make a potbelly stove for heating a garage. And for this homemade wheel rims will also be required.
First of all, it will be necessary to clean the car wheels from dirt and rust. To do this, we arm ourselves with an angle grinder with a petal circle, and we clean the metal surface well.
At one of the disks we cut off the convex part of the grinder. We weld a small piece of strip to it, which will act as a handle. Then we fix the "plate" to another disk with a bolt and nut and enlarged steel washers.
The main stages of work
We take a profile pipe (preferably of rectangular cross section) and cut off several pieces of the desired length from it. We weld the blanks on the sides of the automobile rim with a "plate".
Then we again return to the rim, from which the convex part was previously cut off. First we cut a piece of strip from it, then make two small cuts for the door. After that, we fasten the loop, and immediately attach the handle.
At the next stage, we weld together four wheels. Then we weld the legs from the profile pipe, make a chimney, and from the metal bin we make a round ash tray. All stages of the production of potbelly stoves can be seen in the video on the site.
