Home-made wooden "bricks" are very similar to the elements of the Lego children's designer (fastened together like this legendary designer) - while being a cheaper alternative to plastic parts. You can make them yourself, using available materials and tools.

For the manufacture of wooden "bricks" it is not necessary to use strategic wood reserves that are stored in the workshop - the usual scraps left after sawing boards are suitable. The best option would be to use ash or birch, but pine for the lack of a better one.

The main stages of work

First of all, it is necessary to cut blanks on a circular saw for the manufacture of round sticks. If there is no lathe, then round wooden sticks can be made without problems with the help of a homemade device. For more information on how to make such a conductor, see here.

Then you need to cut the slats to make the "bricks" for the design kit. In each brick using a feather drill, two through holes must be drilled. This is best done on a drilling machine.

At the next stage, we “drive” all the workpieces into one size on a circular saw, making a special device for this.

Then we cut round sticks into "barrels", which we paste into the drilled holes in wooden bricks. The last stage of work is milling.
