On the basis of Dremel, you can make a compact grinder for a workshop or garage, which is useful for processing small parts and blanks made of wood and metal. The design of this homemade product is very simple: the base, the platform for the emery tape and three rollers (two driven and one leading).
The main stages of work
We make the area for the sanding belt from the profile pipe 25x25 mm - with the help of angle grinders we cut each edge of the profile so that only one wall remains. Then we drill 2 holes in the wall and press in the threaded bushings.
At the next stage, we cut out a rectangular plate from a piece of sheet metal with a thickness of about 3-4 mm, which will be used as the base. We measure 1/3 of the entire length of the workpiece, make a shallow cut with a grinder, and then bend the plate at 90 degrees in a vice.
We drill two holes in the "body" of the profile pipe and press two threaded bushings into them. Then we drill one hole and one long groove in the plate, after which we connect the platform for the sanding belt from the profile to the base using M5 bolts.
Assembly assembly
Approximately in the center of the plate, we drill a hole for the diameter of the "neck" of the dremel, after which we install the rollers, the dremel itself and put on the sandpaper tape. The result is a compact grinding machine for simple operations on the processing of wooden and metal workpieces of small sizes.
