The idea of making a home-made sandblasting apparatus from a household propane tank is not new - on the Internet you can often find such designs. That's just their appearance in most cases leaves much to be desired. However, this is easy to fix if you are creative in resolving this issue. However, to begin with, a few words about the sandblasting machine itself.

The gas cylinder itself acts as a sealed container for sand, but the main element is, of course, the compressor. It is better to choose units with high performance. For home use, it will be enough to buy a compressor unit with a receiver of at least 100 liters and a capacity of 335 l / min. Working pressure - should be at least 6 atm. Well, now we turn to the creative part of the work.

The process of making sandblasting from a propane cylinder

First, we make two rings from the old hub. If such a part is not at hand, you can make them from scraps of steel pipes of large diameter or, for example, bend from a round bar. Next, you need to cut in half an ordinary water pipe, cut one segment into two more parts and cut off the edges at certain angles. Also, additional elements from sheet metal, segments of the channel walls and steel round timber will be required.

At the last stage of work, we assemble individual parts from prepared parts. It is necessary to weld several pieces of round timber with a diameter of 8 mm onto the cap of the propane cylinder neck. The cylinder itself is wrapped in a metal strip, fixing it with welded points. Next, weld on the sides of the pipe and can be painted. As a result, an ordinary rusty cylinder turned into a pretty little man - a minion.
