From an ordinary brass nut (you can also use steel) you can make an original and interesting male ring with your own hands.
The finished product will look concise and even a little brutal, but its cost is minimal, and almost everyone can make such a ring.
And first of all, you need to bore the inner hole of the nut so that you can put it on your finger. You can use a round file for this. However, if there is a drill, then this will be done faster.
In order not to damage the outer surface of the nut (by the way, a 1/2 inch nut is used in this case), 1-2 layers of masking tape can be glued to the vice lips.
The main stages of work
Next, it will be necessary to grind the outer edges of the nut on the emery machine, leaving the platform in the upper part. This shape of the ring is very simple, but at the same time very popular. Therefore, the master decided not to retreat from fashion trends.
After rough turning, the nut must be sanded on waterproof sandpaper. Under the sandpaper it will be necessary to put something smooth and solid - for example, a piece of glass or laminate. By the way, for sanding it is better to use car sandpaper.
The final stage of work is polishing. The outer surface of the finished product must be processed on a felt circle using GOI paste.
